What Remote Monitoring Covers

See Your Critical Environment From Anywhere

Critical infrastructure rarely fails without warning. A battery weakens, a cooling unit struggles, water creeps under a floor, load grows past what the room was built for. The signs are there long before the outage, if someone is watching.

UPS Solutions designs, supplies, installs and supports remote monitoring for data centres, server rooms and critical sites across Australia. It covers three layers: the facility with DCIM & CREMS, the room with environmental monitoring and security, and the UPS with our 24/7 UPS Remote Monitoring Service.

Start with one layer or bring all three together. We are vendor agnostic, so the solution is chosen for your site and works with the equipment you already run.

Remote Monitoring FAQs

The questions we are asked most when scoping monitoring for a site or a fleet.

What is remote monitoring for critical infrastructure?

Remote monitoring watches the equipment and conditions that keep your critical systems running, from anywhere. At UPS Solutions it covers three layers: the facility with DCIM and CREMS, the room with environmental monitoring and security, and the UPS with our 24/7 UPS Remote Monitoring Service. Problems are flagged while there is still time to act.

What is the difference between DCIM, environmental monitoring and UPS remote monitoring?

DCIM gives one view of power, cooling, capacity and assets across a facility, and CREMS brings every sensor in the room onto one platform. Environmental monitoring and security is the hardware in the room: temperature, humidity, leak, smoke and battery sensors, cameras and access control. UPS remote monitoring is our service that watches your UPS fleet 24/7, with alerts, remote diagnostics and callouts.

Which one do I need?

If your main concern is whether your UPS will hold up, start with UPS Remote Monitoring. If you need to know when a room gets too hot, wet or is accessed, start with environmental monitoring and security. If you need to plan capacity and see power and cooling across a facility, start with DCIM and CREMS. Many critical sites use all three together.

Can monitoring be added to our existing equipment?

Yes. Sensors, monitoring appliances, network management cards and software are added to the UPS, racks, cooling and network you already run, without replacing your infrastructure. We are vendor agnostic and support all major UPS brands.

Do you monitor sites across Australia?

Yes. UPS fleets are monitored 24/7 from our Sydney monitoring centre, backed by field technicians across the mainland capitals, with service coverage extending to Darwin, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast and Hobart.

Which brands and platforms do you work with?

We supply and support Vertiv Trellis, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, APC NetBotz, Vertiv environmental monitoring including Liebert RDU-A G2 and Geist, ServersCheck, PowerShield battery monitoring and smart UPS systems from all major vendors.
