Mission-Critical Cooling Solutions — Australia-Wide

Precision Cooling for Data Centres & Server Rooms

Designed, Supplied & Installed Across Australia

Precision Cooling, CRAC & CRAH Units

In-Row, Chilled-Water & Specialised Systems

Design, Supply, Install & 24/7 Support

Heat is the silent threat to uptime — every kilowatt of IT load becomes heat that has to go somewhere.

UPS Solutions designs, supplies and installs precision cooling that holds temperature and humidity steady around the clock — across server rooms, edge sites, comms facilities and enterprise data centres, Australia-wide. From CRAC and CRAH units to in-row, chilled-water and specialised systems, we match the right cooling to your heat load, facility and growth plans, backed by local installation and 24/7 support.

Cooling Designed, Installed & Maintained

Australia-Wide

From a single in-row unit cooling a comms closet to a chilled-water plant for a high-density hall, UPS Solutions does more than supply cooling — we assess the heat load, size the system, install, commission and maintain it. Our ANZ engineers manage the full lifecycle, so your environment stays within spec long after handover.

That hands-on capability reaches across server rooms, edge sites, hospitals, government facilities and industrial plants right around Australia — including rapid response when a cooling system fails and temperatures start to climb.

Data Centre & Server Room Cooling FAQs

What's the difference between CRAC and CRAH units?

A CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioner) uses a refrigerant-based compressor to cool the air directly, much like a large dedicated air conditioner. A CRAH (Computer Room Air Handler) uses chilled water supplied from a central plant, with fans passing air over cooling coils. CRAC units suit smaller or standalone server rooms; CRAH systems are more efficient at scale and common in larger data centres with a chilled-water plant.

How much cooling does my server room or data centre need?

As a rough guide, your cooling capacity needs to match your IT heat load — roughly 1 kW of cooling for every 1 kW of IT power drawn, plus headroom for redundancy and future growth. The right figure depends on rack density, room size, layout and ambient conditions, so we carry out a heat-load assessment to size the system accurately rather than over- or under-cooling.

What is precision cooling and why can't I just use regular air conditioning?

Precision cooling is purpose-built for IT environments — it holds tight, stable temperature and humidity 24/7, with much greater airflow and reliability than comfort air conditioning. Standard office AC isn't designed to run continuously, control humidity, or handle concentrated rack heat, which leads to hot spots, equipment stress and downtime. Precision systems are built for always-on critical loads.

What is N+1 redundancy in data centre cooling?

N+1 means having one more cooling unit than the minimum needed to handle the full load. If "N" units are required to cool the space, an N+1 design adds a spare, so cooling continues uninterrupted if a unit fails or is taken offline for maintenance. It's a standard approach for protecting uptime in critical facilities, and we design redundancy to suit how critical your site is.

Do you install and maintain the cooling systems you supply?

Yes. We manage the full lifecycle — heat-load assessment, system design, supply, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance — with our own ANZ field-service team. We also service and maintain existing cooling systems, including units we didn't originally supply, so you have one team across your whole environment.

Which cooling solution is right for my facility?

It depends on your size, density and growth plans: precision and CRAC units suit server rooms and small-to-medium data centres; in-row and rack-based cooling targets high-density racks; chilled-water and modular systems scale for large data centres and industrial sites. The best fit balances capacity, efficiency, redundancy and space — our team will recommend the right approach after assessing your site.
