Project Overview:

Building Queensland's Largest Battery Energy Storage System with UPS Solutions

UPS Solutions is delighted to have been a part of the design, supply, and installation of a state-of-the-art 3-phase Modular AC UPS system for Queensland's largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Wandoan South. This landmark $120 million project possesses a capacity of 100 megawatts and is capable of storing 150 megawatt-hours of energy.

The Challenge:

The scale of the project and its significance to the energy landscape of Queensland posed significant challenges. The UPS system needed to be reliable, efficient, and scalable, given the massive capacity of the battery energy storage system.

The Solution:

Our technical design team collaborated with Vertiv to design a cutting-edge 3-phase Modular AC UPS system suitable for a project of this magnitude. This robust solution was designed to ensure the UPS would provide clean backup power consistently and reliably, a crucial aspect of the larger BESS project.

The Execution:

Our local Queensland team handled the electrical installation of the UPS system. With their expertise and diligence, the UPS system was successfully integrated, ensuring a clean power backup for the BESS project.

The Outcome:

The UPS system is now fully operational, contributing to the successful progress of the BESS project. The system is designed to deliver reliable, uninterrupted power, contributing to the efficiency and performance of Queensland's largest battery energy storage system.
