Upgrading UPS Systems at Aldi Derrimut Distribution Centre
In February 2023, UPS Solutions, the national maintenance service provider for ALDI Stores Australia, undertook a significant upgrade project at ALDI's distribution centre in Derrimut, Victoria.
The Challenge:
Despite the UPS at Derrimut still being functional, it had well exceeded its economical lifespan. As a trusted service provider, UPS Solutions encourages clients to take proactive steps to ensure the long-term reliability of their IT assets. The project required replacing the ageing UPS system without impacting the environment or causing undue cost to the client.
The Solution:
UPS Solutions installed a brand new Vertiv EXS range UPS and a new set of batteries at the site. In an effort to optimize costs and minimise environmental impact, the team repurposed most of the existing electrical infrastructure, including the battery cabinet.
The Outcome:
The project was executed successfully, leading to the replacement of the old UPS system with a new, more reliable unit, while maximising the use of existing infrastructure. The result was a cost-effective solution for the client and a reduced environmental footprint.
